Company News 26 November, 2008 Once the shipper had agreed to this, Interglobo arranged for the consignment to be transported on a double-axle truck. The Interglobo team in Singapore prepared all the necessary documents for submission to the Singapore Port Authority and the police, and applied for the transhipment permit on 6th October. All documents were approved by 17th October. A 100-ton crane was used to load the goods onto the truck at the port, and the truck left Singapore on 17th October 2008 with a Singapore police escort up to the Malaysian border at Johor Bahru. Thanks to thorough preparation, the consignment passed smoothly through Customs. The 1,200km journey to Penang took 3 days and 2 nights, arriving on 19th Oct 2008 at 6.30 am, and was accompanied along the route by two mobile escorts to the front and rear of the truck to ensure safe transit of the goods. The goods were discharged safely to the receiver at midday the following day at Penang Port wharf without any problems. A job well done! 18 August, 2008 |
